Lou and I have differed when deciding on a destination for trips.  He finds a place he loves and wants to return while I want to try new places!  So many places to see! That being said, why are we  going back to Hawaii, New Zealand and Australia?  The simple answer is that we absolutely loved all three of those places and just can’t wait to go back!! We have no doubt that we will find “something completely different” at each place!  This trip to Hawaii, (which is a great stopping place to break up that long-long flight to NZ) we’re going to the Big Island, which is “something completely different”.  We are returning to Maui, which we both absolutely loved, but the “something different” this time is that Jennifer will be coming for a week!  Fun!!  Once in NZ we have no doubt that Jeff and Clare will have new and crazy things for us to do! We will be going to different places in Australia as well.  The highlight being a stay in Mooloolaba, Brisbane, where Lou and Jeff will be competing in a triathlon!  While tris are not new to Lou, this one will be!  Ocean swim, (sharks, jellyfish!) coastline run and bike, not to mention training and competing with his cousin Jeff!! Lou is hoping to win the category of men 65 and older…from NY, named Lou!!  J  I’m hoping to do the twilight 5k the night before!  The last leg of our trip will be the highlight of “something completely different”! We will be in Thailand for 2 weeks!! (I can almost taste the Pad Thai now!!) Again, we have no doubt that Jeff and Clare will plan some fabulous and crazy adventures for the 4 of us!!

So as in the past, I will document our journey here, feel free to follow us...or not!!  J .  The narrative is just as much for us to document and remember the detail of our trip, so if it is too wordy for you, feel free to skip it and just look at pictures!

April 2019 Dogless If I counted up the years of my life I’ve spent without a pet, I am guessing it would be less than 5 years. Most of my life I’ve lived with dogs, but I’ve also cohabitated with   cats and various guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, fish, and even hermit crabs. I recently lost my   buddy Teddy.   If you have also shared your home with a little buddy, you get it. My house is empty. Funny thing to say when there are   two of us here…but there is a little dog shaped hole in every room. It is strikingly noticeable how   everything I do, once revolved around a 10 lb. bundle of energetic fur. For a little guy, he had a big presence!   If I was in the house, he was by my side.   My last sight as I walked out the door was those panicked eyes pleading me not to go.   My first sight when I returned was those eyes of Joy that I was back.    I’m told, when I was gone, he was at the top of the stairs waiting for my return....

Australia-Sunshine Coast

   We stayed in Maroochydore, Queensland, Australia. Jeff and Clare's friend Scotty has a condo there. We could watch the sunrise without getting out of bed!  It's the sunshine coast but we got a good bit of rain.  Good thing they have spots to bag your brolly!  Clare and I spent quite a bit of time shopping and floating in the pool while the guys swam, biked, ran and fretted!!   Watched kayak races from our balcony.    sunset  Actually saw some kangaroos on the side of the road! You don't see that in Spencerport!       We came to Australia so Lou, Jeff and Simon could do the Mooloolaba tri. Clare and I did the twilight 5k a couple days before.     Here's the altitude. You know how I love hills!!😡       Clare coming in. They interviewed her at the finish!  The sea was angry all the days leading up to the tri! That's no lake Ontario! ...
